Nearly 9 mos Check-up

Gabriel saw the Dr this morning. He is currently 18 lbs 11oz and 28" tall. Healthy, happy, making good progress all around. drumming on surfaces, some biting of mommy and daddy, still crawling everywhere and pulling himsef up. Not much interest in walking yet, though. Two teeth on the bottom, no more on the horizon just yet.

Because so many things aren't evident from the pictures and videos, here is an update on Gabriel's goings and interests. He pulls himself up on anything - chairs, the wall, bookcase, table...He is pretty good at falling. That is, he goes down butt first. However, when standing he likes to let go with one hand and look around. In looking around his head leads and leads down when he loses his balance which ends up as a head first fall to the hardwood floor. He currently has two bumps on his forehead...He also tries letting go with both hands and grabbing onto something else, which rarely works in his favor. In his crib, where the railing is continuous, he is quite good at walking around inside along the railing. I guess this is called cruising, though its really slow-going. He also has a preoccupation with a particular light socket. He kept reaching for the chords and pulling on them, so I finally unplugged them and put socket covers in. Well, those socket covers are now intense sources of amusement and squeals. Instead of trying to pull on them, he now licks them....! All told, he is doing very well. Still breaking hearts in the street, eating up a storm, exploring and learning.
